Application Analyst - Document Management

Job description

Within several SNCB directorates (Stations, Transport, Marketing & Sales) initiatives have been started with regard to content management and paperless business in the broadest sense of the word. From IT we want to provide the necessary support in order to be able to offer the necessary functional support at the start of these initiatives.

In this position you are responsible for determining, coordinating and realizing the needs regarding Information Management within certain business domains, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities are a combination of business analysis, functional analysis and project management:

  • Preparing and supervising workshops with the client
  • Guiding the (internal and external) customer in the change management process for the implementation of new information architectures
  • Propose solutions to and negotiate with the customer that fit into a broader context (and are not limited to one business process)
  • Drawing up guidelines for the use of metadata, hierarchical structures, naming conventions, ...
  • Drawing up and following up schedules
  • Keeping your knowledge of content management & collaboration up-to-date
  • Translate functional requirements to developers
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Functional Analysts & Engineers, Enterprise Architects and maintain close contact with the client


  • Master's degree or equivalent through experience
  • Relevant experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of MS SharePoint / OpenText Content Server / SAP PSM / O365
  • Knowledge of content management principles and of the approach to arrive at information architectures
  • Experience with metadata and taxonomies
  • Knowledge of (technical) (copy) writing and directing people to perform technical writing
  • Experience with the standard functionalities of the different ECM platforms
  • Methodical, accurate and an eye for detail
  • Proactive, problem-solving ability, practical and structured
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English, both orally and in writing
