Technical Architect Oracle


Job description

You are responsible for the IT application architecture within your technology domain Oracle and you follow up on the projects/programmes within the domain in order to guarantee a coherent, stable, high-performing and (cost) efficient IT landscape that meets the client’s needs and is in accordance with the enterprise architecture.

  • In collaboration with our external partner, you collect and analyse technology needs from the business’ demands as well as the IT strategy and translate them into a high level architecture and technical product requirements.
  • You make sure your knowledge is up to date and follow up on market evolutions within your technology domain in order to submit specific improvement proposals and to validate the partner’s proposals to keep the technology landscape evolving.
  • Together with the partner, you set up viability studies in order to assess the impact of the modification change on our architecture in your technology domain.
  • You offer technical support on your technology domain to collaborators and to the client. You consult with the different ICT suppliers on the collaboration and the technological knowledge transfer in order to realise improvements and/or exercise an influence on the software components to be bought/that were bought.
  • You monitor the allocated budget and always take the cost of your proposals into account.
  • You validate the deliverables of our partner within your technology by means of random checks. You actively collaborate with the partner to ensure the quality of the deliveries in your technology domain.

Requirements

  • You own a master’s degree (preferably in computer science) or equivalent by experience.
  • You have a first relevant professional experience as a technical architect and have worked for some years as a developer in Java, .Net, ESB or Oracle.
  • You have an affinity with the other technology domains. You will be part of a team with different technical architects, which means you will be in contact with other technologies.
  • You are able to convince people on technical aspects and can come up with and assess constructive solutions.
  • You are a born mentor and coach. Ideally, you are used to working with offshore teams.
  • You have a good knowledge of English and of Dutch or French (knowledge of the second national language is considered an asset).
  • You communicate fluently and in a structured manner and you have a high degree of adaptability.
  • You are eager to learn and regularly take initiative to develop yourself.
  • You are analytical by nature and capable of following up on multiple projects at the same time.
  • You are a team player who is also able to work autonomously.
