Ypto is SNCB’s IT company and is helping to implement the digital transformation of our Belgian railways. We digitise processes and offer innovative solutions, always focusing on the end user. We always do this in consultation with our customer, SNCB. Our work has a tangible impact on thousands of SNCB collaborators and millions of train passengers. As a subsidiary of SNCB, Ypto is fully dedicated to the Belgian railways. But what exactly is the link between Ypto and SNCB? And how important is Ypto to the future of rail transport?

How SNCB and Ypto cooperate

On the one hand, Ypto ensures that all IT systems function properly and carries out (planned) interventions to make the digital solutions work as well as possible. This way, we guarantee the (cyber)security of the entire SNCB organisation. On the other hand, we work on specific projects and create digital solutions at the request of SNCB. We always do this in co-creation with our customer and with TCS, our outsourcing partner. As a strategic partner, we then provide advice, always keeping the interests of our customer in mind.

Our dream and long-term vision

Digitalising national passenger traffic. That is our dream. The dream for which we work hard every day. And because we do this with our colleagues at SNCB we come into contact with the various professions in the fascinating world of railways. Through working on a mobile application for train managers or the ERP system for the workshops, together we are making an impact on the travel experience and safety of millions of passengers.

Our ambitions are not only about what we want to achieve, but also about how we do this. The structure of our company

In order to digitise the entire SNCB, we can rely on several departments, each specialising in a particular field. This way, the changes can be carried out smoothly in all areas. Each department consists of both internal collaborators and external consultants. In total, there are approximately 700 people who make digitisation possible.
