Application Owner: Bridge the Gap Between Business and IT at NMBS

Your Role:

As an Application Owner, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end management of a portfolio of NMBS / SNCB applications, ensuring they deliver maximum value to the business. This dual-focused role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder management skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Portfolio Optimization: Strategically manage and monitor your application portfolio to optimize performance, continuity, and integration with other systems.
  • Problem Management: Investigate and suggest improvements to fix identified problems.
  • Business Alignment: Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and align application strategies accordingly.
  • Project Delivery: Prioritize changes, manage resources, and coordinate with teams to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.
  • Functional analysis: Gather business requirements and translate them into functional analysis
  • Documentation Management : make sure the functional documentation is kept up to date
  • Knowledge Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for both IT and business teams regarding your application portfolio.

Requirements

Your Skills and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in application management, combining support and portfolio management responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of software packages and ITIL framework.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch, French and English.
  • Problem-solving mindset, organized, and stress-resistant.
  • Experience as a functional analyst is a plus.
