As a SAP Data Governance Architect you are responsible for setting the organization on the right track for optimal data governance in SAP. You will collaborate in the development of data models for all data objects in S/4HANA, as well as lead the effort to define the procedures around data management and data quality, within the new ERP landscape (S/4HANA plus satellites) transformation and beyond.
Key responsabilities:
- Propose data governance procedures to be applied to SAP data objects, in a way that is compatible with the overall data governance organization of SNCB/NMBS and that allows the organization to leverage the fresh start of the upcoming transformation projects;
- Contribute to the definition of the SNCB’s data governance framework by collaborating with the overall SNCB Data Governance Lead and Architects, incorporating the SAP Teams’ point of view;
- Communicate the SNCB’s data governance framework to the SAP community of SNCB and facilitate the SNCB Data Governance Lead’s team in organizing the right training and support initiatives;
- Gather the input of the SAP community and more specifically of the Data Migration specialists and of the MDG team with regards to all aspects of data governance (including data definitions and link with business process management, data quality and data cleansing), both in relation to day to day business and in relation to the new ERP landscape implementation;
- Collaborate with the System Implementation Partner (QA and QC role) to ensure the data governance and data quality procedures and practices that will be or are being implemented are fully compatible and aligned with the defined governance;
- Oversee the data management and data quality of all data objects that are not directly managed in MDG and collaborate with the MDG team to ensure a consistent way of working and maintain a high level of data quality across all SAP solutions;
- Define useful KPI’s for data in SAP in order to measure the effectiveness of the implemented framework;
- Lead and advise other SAP professionals to solve any data issues that might arise, especially if cross-functional and cross-object. Report to Domain Architects and Business Area Leads on data issues and resolutions;
- Propose improvements on data literacy and provide trainings where/when needed and implement them with the help of the overall SNCB Data Governance Lead’s team;
- Ensure the collaboration between the SAP teams and the data specialists of non-SAP applications to ensure SAP data can be consumed within the broader Data Governance framework (quality measurements & improvements, data cleansing ..) and SAP-based data can be trusted and consumed downstream;
- Once the move to S/4HANA is complete, work with the SAP Data Migration and Synchronization Architect to maintain the data consistency across SAP and connected applications.
As a SAP Data Migration and Synchronization Architect you will help us make our upcoming move to S/4HANA a success. Your contribution will allow us to start our journey with the best possible data and you will make sure we keep the right pace and objectives in focus, to ensure smooth go-lives. Later, your role will be instrumental to ensure Ypto and the NMBS/SNCB continue to reap the benefit of our investments in data both in S/4HANA and in connected systems.
- Work with the System Implementation and Run partners for data synchronisation of the SAP data to the legacy applications and coordinate the smooth operation of all interfaces and data extractors with the SAP teams;
- Coordinate the efforts of preparing our data in SAP Business Suite and connected systems (SuccessFactors, Ariba, FI-CA, CRM,..) for the move to the new ERP solution (S/4HANA with a number of SAP Satellite solutions) by collaborating with Domain Architects, Business Area Leads, and both technical and functional teams;
- Validate the plan of the System Implementation partner in terms of data migration and data synchronization strategies, and report to the program leadership in this regard;
Requirements
- Critical requirement: you have at least 8 years relevant experience in SAP projects, data management, data governance or data migration from SAP business suite to SAP S/4HANA and satellite solutions;
- Critical requirement: you have at least 5 years experience in leading the implementation of data management in a SAP-solution environment;
- Critical requirement: you have at least 5 years experience in migrating data from SAP Business Suite to SAP S/4HANA or satellite SAP-solutions
- Critical requirement: you have knowledge of at least 4 of the following SAP solutions and their data model (S/4HANA (all modules), BTP, Ariba, Successfactors, Intelligent Business Planning, Intelligent Asset Management, Cloud-for-Customer, Customer Data Cloud);
- Critical requirement: you have used during at least 3 project life cycles at least 3 of the following tools: BRF, BRF+, LSMW, SAP MDG, SAP Migration Cockpit,.. You know what tool to choose for which occasion;
- You understand the SAP data model across a wide range of functionalities (financials, maintenance and repair operations, supply chain, HR, customer service and contract management, procurement), and are an evangelist for the SAP One Data Model;
- You have experience in collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders (business, SI, technical and functional staff);
- You have proven experience and enjoyed working in both a consolidated team and in a number of parallel projects, including with 3rd party or offshore colleagues;
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills, and can summarize and present technical information to non-technical audiences;
- You have a can-do mentality, like to roll up your sleeves and not walk away from an issue, no matter when and why it occurs: fix the problem, don’t blame others;
- Critical requirement: You have a good knowledge of English and (Dutch or French), and to have discussions with senior management on data governance topics in their language of choice;
