As Data Quality Officer within our Data Governance team, you play an instrumental role in the realization of this vision by setting up and improving SNCB/NMBS’ Data Quality framework, providing guidance and support in its roll-out, and implementing it.
Role & Responsibilities
- You provide vision/guidance on all dimensions of SNCB/NMBS’ Data Quality framework (Data Quality process, Data Quality roles & responsibilities, Data Quality tools and reports, Data Quality dimensions, ...) – you make sure the framework is aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and needs
- You communicate and explain SNCB/NMBS’ Data Quality framework within business and IT
- You raise awareness of the importance of data quality across the organization
- You provide the necessary support, coaching and training to business and IT during the roll-out of SNCB/NMBS’ Data Quality framework – you have special attention is required to make sure the business understand their new (operational) roles (data owner, data steward)
- You lead and participate to Data Quality communities within and outside of SNCB/NMBS
- You understand privacy regulation (eg GDPR) related to data quality
- You work with the Business to ellicit Data Quality Business Rules for specific Data Assets, and implement those rules (Python, SQL, ...) on our home made Data Quality Engine.
- You support the Business in their monitoring and acting on their Data Quality Business Rules scores
- You report, address and prioritize any Data Quality business concerns that need particular attention
Vereisten
- You have proven experience in Data Quality in a large company
- You have proven experience in Data Quality in railway sector
- You have a strong understanding of Data Governance and Data Management principles and practices
- You have strong knowledge in Enterprise Architecture and Data & Analytics
- You have proven expertise in business and functional analysis
- Experience with industry-leading data management and governance tools is a plus
- You have a data-driven mindset
- You can analyze complex situations and define realistic targets to achieve a given objective
- You can summarize and present regulatory and technical information to non-technical audiences
- You challenge requirements and provide alternative approaches
- You have a master’s degree or equivalent by experience
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills
- You have a strong experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Python, Azure
- You have the ability and willingness to learn new Data governance tools and programming languages
- You are fluent in Dutch or French, and English (active knowledge of French or Dutch)
